Bibliography
Harold Stanley Percival ARE 1868 -1914 A marine painter elected to the Royal
Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1905. His addresses are listed
as Seaford 1905, and Steyning in 1908. His subject matter also included
landscapes and town scenes. Born at Bickley in Kent on the 6th Sept.1868,
he followed a career as an engineer until 1897 and was involved in the construction
of the Manchester Ship Canal. He worked as an artist in Sussex and East
Anglia. He died on the 6th Oct. 1914 and a memorial exhibition was held
at The Brighton Art Gallery the following year. Exhibited 32 @ RE, 2 @ RSA,
3 @ LS, 5 @ L, 2 @ GI.
