Artist Bibliography:
Mark Gibbons was born in Lyme Regis, Dorset, UK in 1949. He graduated from Hull University in 1972 with a BA Hons in Psychology and Philosophy.

Following university he spent several years travelling and painting in America, Australia, New Zealand, Bali, Malaysia, Japan and Russia.

For the last twenty years he has lived in South Devon, UK establishing a reputation as one of the Westcountry's leading watercolourists. He teaches and demonstrates regularly in Art Societies in the area.

Mark's love of Westcountry landscapes is renewed each time he sets off from home, either alone or with friends and family, for camping and canoeing trips.

His paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society at the South Bank Gallery in London. He has had work commissioned for President Mitterand of France, and in 1994, Devon County Council commissioned one of his paintings, to be given to the French on the anniversary of the d-Day landings in June.

Mark's original watercolours can be viewed at Devonshire Fine Art Gallery and in private collections in Australia and America.
