He signed his pictures with A.B.W.S. following his name which probably indicates that he was an associate member of the Birmingham Watercolour Society. He painted mainly in watercolour landscapes, although there is reference to an oil painting of figures. Subjects include Bruges, Richmond Castle Yorkshire, Brockhampton Dorchester, Lustliegh Devon, Road over the moors Exmoor, Cottage Gardens, Yorkminster , Bootham Bar York and A Summer Afternoon in the Country.
