Biography:
William Hyams b.1878
Landscape painter, born in Portsmouth, spent his childhood in Guernsey. Studied at Brighton School of Art. Spent some years at sea which gave him the opportunity to paint marine subjects. Exhibited at the RA and the RI, in the provinces and abroad. Represented in Brighton and Hove Art Galleries. Painted many Sussex scenes and was Chairman of Brighton Arts Club in 1947.
