William Henry Dyer fl. 1890 - 1930
Painter in watercolour and sometimes oil. Of Devon coastal and moorland scenes. He lived for most of his life in Babbacombe, Devon and his brother Charles Dyer was an amateur artist. The only recorded reference to his exhibits was a view of Torbay at an exhibition of Westcounrty artists at the Graves Gallery, London in 1900. He travelled to Switzerland, Italy, India and Egypt where he sketched the tombs. J. Salmon of Sevenoaks published his work as postcards, these were mainly Westcountry scenes especially Dartmoor and date from around 1920.
