Late Victorian artist of genre subjects. Exhibited seven paintings at the Royal Society of British Artists. Gray appears to have been her maiden name and Curwen her married name. In 1864 she sold 'The sempstress' for the substantial sum of £40.00 and it was inscribed "O men with sisters dear, O men mothers and wives; It is not linen you are wearing out, but human creatures lives". - T. Hood.
