Artist's Biography:
Ernest George Webb 1876 - 1951
Painter in watercolour and occasionally oil of landscapes and cottage scenes.
Born in Plymouth in 1876 and studied at Plymouth School of Art from 1890 where
he received the Silver and Bronze, Queen's Medals.
He trained as a stained glass artist and joined Fouracres in Plymouth who supplied windows for many churches and houses in the West Country Many of his watercolours were scenes of Dartmoor and the Plymouth area. He was a founder member of the Plymouth Society of Artists and works by him are held by the City of Plymouth Art Gallery.
