Watercolour landscape painter born in Greenwich and studied under James Duffield Harding and Samuel Prout. Became an Associate of the Royal Institute in 1846 and a full member in 1848, he then resigned in 1854.
Became an associate of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1855 and was elected a full member in 1884. He lived in Liverpool, Hastings and latterly Bristol where he died.
Exhibited: 151 @ RWS, 25 @ Walker Gallery, Liverpool, 3 @ Manchester City Art Gallery.
