William Henry Pike 1846 - 1908
Born in Plymouth, his home address is listed as 41 Tavistock Place, a landscape and genre painter in oil and watercolour who exhibited from 1874. In 1874 he moved to London and two addresses are listed, in 1881, 14 Eton Villas, Haverstock Hill, N.W. and in 1888, St. Ronans, Park Road, Haverstock Hill, N.W.
He was elected to the Royal Society of British Artists in 1889 where he exhibited 39 pictures including 'Old Cottages, Newton Ferrers' in 1886 and ' A Parting Shot, a Scene in the Village of Noss' in 1889.
Latterly he painted many scenes on the continent and especially in Venice. He also exhibited 2 @ RA, 15 @ RI, 3 @ RHA and 12 @ ROI.
Examples of his work can be seen at the British Museum and at Exeter Museum.
